“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
As we experience the things of the world, we will find great trouble—violent injustice, systems of oppression and gross abuse against the vulnerable.

But there we realize that brokenness is not something to be concealed—but unveiled as thing of beauty. The brokenness of the world is a result of the brokenness within ourselves.

Because of this—our spirit is desperately crying out for a healer—the one who takes our brokenness and makes it into something beautiful again. As Christ transforms all brokenness, he mends us with his love. We are overcome with the beauty of Christ that illuminates from within us. Kintsuge is the Japanese art form of mending broken pottery with gold. Similarly, we are living examples of broken people that are filled with gold. It is because of our brokenness that we are even more beautiful than before.
God, mend my brokenness with your love.
